Global Wind Organization (GWO) is a non-profit organization founded by a consortium of industrialists from the wind sector whose objective is to control risks in the working environment.

Members strive to create a working environment by establishing common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures.

GWO released the first version of the Basic Safety Training (BST) standard in 2012 in response to demand for a recognizable standard in the wind turbine industry. This was followed by the Basic Technical Training (BTT) Standard in 2017.

GWO has since launched a series of other training standards that align employer requirements for workers in various roles in the wind industry.

The GWO Training Standards outline the requirements for training courses recommended by GWO members. By complying with GWO standards and criteria, certified training providers such as HTC Techniques Verticales are considered experienced and competent.

This GWO BST training enables participants to support themselves and others working in the industry by possessing knowledge and skills in First Aid, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Marine Survival (environment Offshore) and in the event of an emergency, to be able to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate first aid to the injured.

HTC Techniques Verticales provides the entire GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) training program on its technical platforms in Marseille_Peypin and Lille_Leforest:

FIRST AID  day (Onshore/Offshore)

Participants of the GWO First Aid training course are able to administer safe and effective first aid in the wind industry and in the turbine environment in accordance with the training specifications.
This training will allow participants to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use an automated external defibrillator (…)

MANUAL HANDLING  0.5 day (Onshore/Offshore)

Participants in the GWO Manual Handling training course are able to achieve ergonomic manual handling through planning, risk elimination, hazard control and the implementation of correct techniques if elimination is not possible (….)

FIRE SAFETY (Fire Awareness) 0.5 days (Onshore/Offshore)

Participants of the GWO Fire Safety training course are able to prevent fires, make appropriate judgments when assessing a fire, manage the evacuation of personnel and ensure that everything is considered in complete safety in the event of an unmanageable fire. If the incident is deemed safe, participants should be able to effectively extinguish a first fire using basic hand-held firefighting equipment. (…)

WORKING AT HEIGHT 2 days (Onshore/Offshore)

Participants in the  GWO Working at Heights training course are able to use basic personal protective equipment and perform safe working at heights and basic safe and comprehensive rescue at height in a wind environment (...)

Prerequisites: Medical fitness for work at height

SEA SURVIVAL1 day (Offshore)
